• 4-Bromoaniline* reacted with hydrochloric acid to form the salt*, 4-bromoanilinium chloride*.
  
  
• Keep the aqueous solution (the top layer) containing the 4-bromoanilinium chloride salt.
  Save it to recover (isolate) 4-bromoaniline.

Continue to separate the mixture.
